Well, I have been wanting to put my knitting projects up here for a while and I thought I might as well get it done tonight. These are still WIPs but I am working hard on getting them finished....hehe, yeah right. I have actually started three new projects, hehe....anyway, here:
Slippers for Mackan (my brother - he needs new slippers in a bad way. Once, I saw him at my dad's wearing his cheap IKEA slippers and they were falling apart. Here comes the kicker - he duct-taped them together!!!! That is bad!)

Actually, after having taken these pictures today I have finished the one slipper. Now, on to the next one.
My black beaded evening bag - this one is for me. I mentioned it in a previous post. I still need to stitch up the sides. What's taking me forever is that I cannot find a 4" black zipper in this city! Maybe I will find one in Chicago??
Here is a close up showing the beads a bit better:
Legwarmers - this was my first pattern that I followed. They were really fun to knit but I am dragging my butt with the finishing (that is why this looks just like a pile of yarn!). I think it's because I won't actually wear these. I basically made them for practice.
And last but not least - the "Saucy Tote". This yarn was so delicious to work with! I want to use it again - but not sure for what. I had a hard time finding a 2" button but ended up finding one, in purple, at Michael's! I had tried all the fabric stores, even specialty ones, but to no avail. Then I found some at Michael's - a five-pack for 2.50 or so. They look kinda plastic-y but I think it will work. My Dad said "You can't go button-hunting in Chicago!!"

On a different note -
Last night I went to Broken City for the first time ever!! It was awesome. We sat out on the rooftop patio there and had some drinks. Even when it rained we endured. I had the enchilada for dinner, it was so yummy. The bartender was fabulous and the company was fun! I was there with Jeannette, Jensenne, Alanna (sp?), Keely and Erin! I have not had such a fun by-accident-girls-nite in a looong time! It was great - I want to go back there for sure.....Unfortunately, Jeannette, who always, always, always has a digital camera on her didn't bring it because she was going to try out her new fancy Nikon. Turns out her Nikon is jammed and was out of commission last night. So no pics, but next time for sure!
That's it for now...I have to continue packing. I leave early Monday morning for the Windy City. I am excited because on the weekend we are there we are "approved" to stay downtown, about a block from the Magnificent Mile. Fabulous! I think I will go to the Art Institute for sure. And if it's really nice out I want to rent a bike and ride down by Lake Michigan. I will do lots of wandering and take some pics (not digital though, can't bring the Leica there - not mine to bring).
Bye!
