As for my first day learning Japanese, it was such a tiring day!
Morning session was all about grammar and learning Hiragana and apparantly, my sensei said we have to remember all Hiragana within 2 weeks - WTF?! We learned how to write japanese characters and I hate my handwriting to the core. I know it's always like that when you learn new language coz I remember how horrid my Russian writing was when I first studied that and it just got better and better afterward. Anyhow, I promised myself to actually practice it everyday until I have decent handwriting - That's a pledge from me!
Afternoon session is conversation, my Japanese sensei, Saito sensei, was very nice and funny. I think we did quite well in terms of speaking for me and my friends as we are pretty much familiar with Japanese accents and words (the benefit of watching Arashi shows LMAO). We learned about greetings and counting numbers. It is the first time I don't feel intimidated with numbers and speaking in foreign language. Mind you, when I learned French, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian, speaking was quite hard as I dunno the right accent and I'm not familiar with. I think I did better in terms of grammar for those languages. But now with Japanese, speaking seems easy and I dun feel intimidated much....so maybe this is the right track for me, I shall push myself harder for this. I can do it! XD
P.s. I have serious headache after class though, maybe Japanese is damaging my brain now *sigh*
