So before my colleague leaves to work with ILO, she asked me what i really wanna do in life as she will look for jobs for me at the UN office. That is a very hard question, to be honest. I came to this job, thinking as temporary job that i would do before i tried to be diplomat....turned out, this is what i am interested in. Now i have doubts as there are so many things in this life that i havent tried yet so how would i know what i want?
So this is what i came out so far;
- NGO work; non-profit and beneficial to marginalised/disadvantage people of this world
- my scope of interests: reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, humanitarian aid, gender sensitivity, social affairs in general, development
- what i won't do at all: children, environment and animal (it's just something i wouldnt do well)
- i'm interested in mass-advocacy more than advocacy with high-level agencies as i can't see myself blending in with all aristocrats/politians, but i feel like i can be master-mind behind a campaign to raise awareness among people
- i'm interested in planning and coming up with strategies and maybe a bit of monitoring
I could only think of that, until yesterday....while eating lunch at office with my colleague (working on saturday is such a pain), i just came out with the best description of my dream job.
"I wanna work with int'l agencies, planning and setting out strategies on project, particularly on campaign to raise awareness among general public by using public figure; like having Ronan Keating visited families who affected by HIV/AIDS in Thailand in 2002 (??) or like having Nicole Kidman as UNIFEM ambassador."
I mean, I'm combining the job i'm interested in with the thing that i love most, CELEBRITIES!
Now now, if only i got a job at UNAIDS/UNIFEM/UNHCR -- i will involve all celebs i like in *HUAHAHAHHAHAHA*
So i hand in my homework, hope u can find such job for me, P'DUANNEEEEE *lol*
