Men in Hats that Make Southern Films

The movie Searching for the Wrong Eyed Jesus is good stuff.

But it is based on better stuff:

The film reminded me of J.D. Wilkes' Seven Signs:

Granted, Seven Signs is 4 years younger than Searching for the Wrong Eyed Jesus, but I saw it first. Each delves into the creative, eccentric and unseen South.

Then I came across the photographer Dave Jordano. Each film has a large focus on the small town and the spiritual and so does Jordano. He has a series of photos called Articles of Faith which are brilliant, not to mention his Prairieland series.

In other news, I chopped off a whole lotta hair. I got some kinda crazy pineapple headed mohawk thing going.

And I went to the Wild Party Variety Hour last night as hosted by
The Silent Theatre Company.
Best wonders watched:
a mime in space, possessed by a plant specimen.......... the world's best hack juggler........
a pleasantly psychotic piano player........and the neo burlesque of Ms. Lady Jack

theater, burlesque, silent theatre company, movies, music, artists, photographers
