Okay so been rewatching season five with the kids, trying to get them all caught up and what not. So far, we’ve seen up to episode 17. And I’ve got like some questions and stuff or well…concerns.
Concern #1
In ep 17 how WAS Dean able to kill Lea? I mean I believe it’s either got to be because yes, he technically was a servant of God, albeit not willingly, and I get how he was more so than Sam and Castiel. Sam, well that goes without explaining and Castiel, well he’s an angel but he fell from grace so yeah, I get that. I just noticed this time watching it that Lea specifically mentions Dean being a “vessel of Heaven” so that in a sense asserts his power as a servant of Heaven and thus his power to kill her, which means we could just take what she later says about him not having the stuff and being “faithless” as her underestimating him. And my other I guess theory, comes from when Sam asks him “Are you gonna do anything stupid? Like Michael stupid?” Which implies that Dean was able to kill her because the other angels knew [through some sort of silent agreement] that he was seconds away from saying ‘Yes’ and thus granted him the power to vanquish Lea. I’m kind of on the fence with which one to go with. Not that it really matters, I guess. The point is that he WAS able to stop the whore of Babylon.
Concern #2
Okay so in the finale you know they had Chuck say all that crap about how storylines aren’t perfect and some never get closed and how we’re just supposed to kind of accept it. I’m sorry but I really don’t think that like excuses them from closing off certain storylines and just explaining in some way OFFICIALLY on the show why we don’t see certain characters, which leads me to another concern but I’m keeping it here because it ties in with this. So why Why WHY, does Dean go back to Lisa? Seriously, LISA? Does anyone remember a girl from season 1 named Cassie? If he was gonna “make arrangements” for ANYONE, it should have been her. I understand that in real life maybe the actress’ schedule conflicts with Supernatural’s but still, they need to explain her not being there, not even being MENTIONED. Because it really pisses me off, and I’m not gonna lie, part of it is b/c of race. I mean we all know show isn’t the kindest to colored folk. And it just sucks b/c I was like ‘YES! Dean LOVES a black girl! Show is awesome for that!’ and I mean it just really bothers me b/c in Route 666 we see how strong their connection is and how they rekindled their love and how she accepts the so-called ‘family business’. WHERE THE FUCK DID ALL THAT GO? Also, in relation to Cassie, WTF HAPPENED TO MISSOURI?? Now I know for fact that this actress has gotten a bit bigger lately, being in a lot of movies and such, but STILL; EXPLANATION? Because I mean they could have gone to her for a lot of stuff. And once more, episode 6 of season 5 brought us a loveable anti-Christ child named Jesse. And he just disappears. Now when they introduced him, I thought he’d be a valuable asset to the boys in the end. And I mean you’d think he’d most certainly be involved in the Lucifer’s plans in some way. I get that he might come back in season 6 in some way, and in all honesty, knowing that, his absence wouldn’t bother me so much if the episode had been later on in the season like ep 19 or something, but it was so early on, you’d figure they’d do something with that, especially considering the large threat he poses to the Heavenly Host.
ETA: okay so i rewatched Route 666 yesterday and at the very end, some of Cassie's parting words to Dean were "there's not much hope for us" soooo yeah. but Dean was all like "we'll see" so i mean, HE obviously still feels for her [in that ep], y'lnow he's not just willing to give up b/c she THINKS things might go bad. anywhoo. Cassie's closing words don't necessarily excuse her off the show entirely. I mena even just a mention in passing would do, i'd settle for"Oh hey did you hear about cassie?" "No" "She died!" the end.
Concern #3
This is just kind of something that’s been nicking about in the back of my mind since season 4. The whole objective of Sam and Dean being against Lucifer’s release and the apocalypse and saying yes to being vessels was to avoid the casualties that would come with the final battle. But this whole season while they’ve been fighting Heaven, Hell, and each other, SO MANY people have already died. I mean every time they turn the news on its talking about death and natural disasters. Idk it’s just kind of like they’ve taken the other fork in the road only wind up at the same desolate destination. All the casualties of the final battle, without actually having the Final Battle. And I mean all the people they themselves kill that are possessed, I feel like they’ve forgotten there are still people trapped in there. And I know they can’t be expected to exorcise every demon, especially in the midst of combat but it still sucks that they’ve kind of gone back on themselves. Then again that’s kind of been the whole point of the season, just them battling their inner demons and trying to overcome a seemingly unstoppable force.
Concern #4
Regarding episode 19 of season 5. How does Gabriel know about the rings? How does the Devil know? How does Castiel NOT know? I figured that if Gabriel knew then of course the Devil had to know, y’know? Haha. And another thing regarding ep 10 of season 5, HOW DID THEY NOT FIGURE OUT THAT THE COLT WOULDN’T WORK ON THE DEVIL? I mean, fucking DUH! Why would Samuel Colt make a gun to kill something good? Something he probably didn’t even know about? And you’d THINK Castiel, being an angel and all, would have already known that the Colt wouldn’t work on Lucifer, ESPECIALLY seeing as to how it didn’t work on him.
Concern #5
WHY THE FUCK DIDN’T THE ANGELS JUST USE ADAM IN THE FIRST PLACE? Would have saved a lot of time. Hahahha.
ETA2: also in lieu of things that would have saved a lot of time regarding episode 12 of season 5: WHY THE HELL DIDN'T SAM JUST EXORCISE THE DEMON WHEN HE WAS TRAPPED IN GARY'S BODY WHILE TIED UP I THE BASEMENT?
goddammit SHOW! if i can outwit you using YOUR OWN LOGIC, then there is something seriously wrong here.
plus, I hate that ep. except for the Dean speaking Latin part, they got some brownie points with that because i'm shallow, and he's pretty.
Sorry I know it might seems like I hate show and I’m bitching hardcore. I love show so much; these plot holes just bother me and eat away at my brain. Especially the Cassie/Missouri/Jesse one. Which was why I wrote this thing I the first place. I just need some place to vent this stuff. I know show isn’t perfect, but I really hope that some of these things get resolved in season 6, because while I loved parts of Chuck’s monologue, the last part I felt was a bit of a copout. Also, SOULMATES, thus, Dean and Sam need to have sex or some sort of sexual tension-filled awkward scene. AND REAL SAM AND DEAN BODYSWITCHING not that shit they tried to pull episode 12 of season 5. AND this new season must bring with it a musical episode, because Castiel having to sing everything would be hilarious. as would Sam, seeing as to how Jared can't sing. lol. Please and thank you. Gah, I can’t wait for it to START!!
