Two years

It's been two years since I've moved to Los Angeles. I can't say that I feel quite at home yet, but I'm definitely settled in. It's a nice area to live, but I don't think I could live hear forever. The people are too spacey and the traffic sucks. Traffic was moving at ten miles an hour last night at eight. Where the hell were all those people ( Read more... )

That is indeed the Firehouse... it's next to a gym so it's kind of this weird sushi bar/body builder eatery. Like you can get a Fettucini Omlette but it's great if your watching calories cause you can get all the veggies and meat you want in varying sizes. The pancakes are like a buckwheat healthy kind, but I swear they are the tastiest fluffiest pancakes you can eat. I used to eat there all the time because my boyfriend at the time lived right on the beach so it was close-by.

You don't know the infamous Magic Castle?

It's a "Members Only" club but you can get invites but you need to eat dinner there... it's pricey for the type of food you get (figure about $50 per person for food/drinks) which isn't very good, but it's a really great night out. They have several shows there so get there early... they have a couple "theatres" where magicians do their thing... I love the upclose gallery as they're normally card tricks. You can wonder around the place and there's usually magicians in the basement in one of the many rooms doing "unofficial" shows.

You must go to Roscoes... you can hit up the one in Hollywood if you're unsure about hitting the one on Pico. Don't go late night though because you will not get in.

I like talking about California. If I think of anything else I adore I'm going to make sure to give you the heads up. At least someone can be out having a good time.
