Dell has
finally broken down and started to sell computers with AMD chips in then. Time to sell my AMD stock *finally*! I've been
waiting for this FOREVER!
Well not all of it, just about half of it, I've more than doubled my stock position in AMD and it's now more than 20% of my portfolio. The stock was up to about $40 a couple months ago when there was some rumblings about a Dell deal, where there was some circumstantional evidence that this would happen soon, when it didn't the stock slipped back down to the $32 - $30 range. I was annoyed because now it wasn't that much out of my position range.
I currently own eleven different stocks, with all of my various positinos in the $100 to $600 range. Ideally I like to keep my stocks between $200 and $300. It's not good to allow one stock or sector to rule your whole portfolio. I learned that the hard way with owning both JetBlue and Independance Air. But there are still some issues I need to resolve, I have both Sattellite Radio companies, Peet's and Starbuck's coffees, .. ah well, no one is perfect.
This couldn't come at a better time, My portfolio had dropped to it's lowest level in years and I had started getting worried. But this is just the bump I needed. I'm just not sure what I'm going to buy. I'm definately holding on to $200-$300 worth of shares but I'll have atleast that much in cash to buy some other stocks.
In after hours
trading it's already up $4, that's over 12%, this is awesome. I'm a quite stoked right now. Even more stoked that I was
yesterday when I cashed in the live poker tournament yesterday. hehe.. go me!
