Hi! Remember Me? Yup, it has been a long time since we talked. Been a bit busy, but thought I would sit down and unscramble my brain long enough to get something productive out of it for you to read.
Let's see......what should I talk about? HHmmmm.......
Went to Yogi Bear Park over the weekend with friends and family. For those that don't know, this is like a huge commercialized forest area that has cabins, tent sites, trailer sites, 2 pools, rec halls, general stores, canoe rentals and lots more. Some people call it "camping" ......but I am thinking if I can walk less than 600 feet and buy a plate of popcorn chicken and soft serve icecream.....that ain't camping!
We DID have a great time though, as we do every year. The kids are old enough to go out and explore on their own, so as long as they are enjoying it, we keep going back. The adults get to relax a bit because we aren't chasing the kids around. Oh...and the best part is that Yogi Bear comes and visits your campsite....in full costume.....pretty funny!! (pretty scary as well....lol)
Spent the day last week in BoothBay Harbor, Maine. What a beautiful area.......BUT it was a looooong drive to get there. My husband and I drove to watch the lobster boat races. Yeah, I know.....sounds a bit weird. Lobster boats are not fast, yet some folks tweek their engines so they can compete yearly in these races. Pretty funny sight to see. We met friends who had been up there, so we were able to sit on their
boat, have a few drinks and eat junk food. Yumm! :)
We have 3 more camping trips scheduled in July and early August. I am making the most of my time off. Not to worry though......some of the camping trips are without running water, electricity and toilets. Yup...REAL CAMPING!! That should be interesting......
Okay......stuff to do! Bye :)
