Dreams Again
Crazyass dream last night that I actually remember a lot of.
I'm in this Microsoft facility and I think I'm some sort of beta version of Windows Vista. It made sense at the time. Anyway I'm in a room and they're telling me that since there's a newer build of Vista so they're going to try to upgrade me. I step on to a marked square on the floor and a tube comes down over me. I start floating up and the tube fills with orange gas, but then they say that there's a problem and they can't upgrade me so now they'll have to decomission me and they're explaining the two ways they can go about doing that. The first way was to put needles or razors or something into my eyes, which they claim is the most painless. The other way involved some spinning platform so I chose that one because there was no mention of needles.
I get on to the spinning platform (which is stationary at that point) and I ask what my options were again because I'd just noticed a large needle slowly descending from the ceiling and going straight for my eyes. At this point, handrails or a low fence have come up out of the floor and the platform is now starting to spin. The lady starts describing the first method again but I interrupt her by saying "oh, fuck this." I grab the rails behind me and do a backflip off of the spinning section of the floor, then I jump out the window of the room as the lady yells "you can't escape!" after me.
Now I'm running down the ramps on the back of the building, leading down to a grassy yard/field at the bottom. It's still fenced in and clearly on Microsoft property, and it has small hills and rolls like the default XP wallpaper but there's a lot of people and largish tents on it. It looks like there's some sort of fair going on.
I after about five levels of switchback ramps (think the ones at Diamond Bar HS) I finally get to the ground level and start running across the field. Now I have one of those fake plastic collapsable lightsabers, and I know it's fake but I still think it's really cool. I'm running and I know that the chick from the room is after me.
At this point it starts getting weird(er). I'm still in control of my body, but somebody else is saying things through my mouth. I keep saying things like "I'm a 40 year old woman" then I wonder how that could possibly benefit me in a chase situation, until the person talking through me says "I'm a convicted murderer, they'll never get me" and I figure that I must have it under control. I know that I'm not a 40 year old woman because I keep jumping over really long distances in a jedi-esque fashion and the impact of landing hurts my man-groin, so it's like I have a split personality that is an older woman and she has control of my talking but I'm the one moving and thinking.
I keep running and jumping down from the tops of the hills and bashing the woman with my plastic lightsaber. She grabs some a plastic rod off the ground and starts going at me with it but I fight her off and I don't kill her, but she stops coming at me. I keep seeing random people I know like Greg Darling and Chris Gray, but I keep running past and don't say anything to them. I know that Se Young is there too, but I don't know if I've seen her at this point. She's running away from the building like I am.
I keep running across the field until I get to some large building at the other end that I understand is a mall, and when I get in the dream ends.
I guess this means that I feel like I'm being tested but ultimately disregarded, and I have a split personality that's a middle-aged woman. Cool.
