Yesterday Joe won $50 on a scratch ticket. He came home and handed me $25 and gave me strict instructions that it must be spent on something fun and he wants to see a receipt for proof. I have no idea what to do/buy. I don't play video games, there aren't any movies I want.. I'd love a Venus flytrap but I have no idea where to get one. I've seen them at the grocery store occasionally but even that's not gonna be $25.
He had to work a little bit late yesterday and was delayed coming home because he bumped into an old roommate on the way, so he went to bed early. Still feeling unimpressed from my workout yesterday, I thought it would be a great idea to do a 10 minute pilates sculpt workout followed by a 10 minute pilates abs video... and then go to bed shortly after. First, I couldn't fall asleep. Then I couldn't stay asleep - I woke up around 5am-ish for no real reason. I was just laying there so I decided to at least get up and pee. I must've fallen back asleep because then it was 7:40am.
Since I was up early, I gathered up the rest of my laundry (I did a small load on Thursday night) and headed downstairs. Now, we do have laundry on-premise, but just not in the actual apartment. It's not that expensive, $1.25/wash and $1.00/dry, but there is only one washer and one dryer. For approximately 20 apartments. I don't usually have any trouble on Saturdays as long as I do my laundry right when I wake up, but every once in awhile someone gets there before me. I did a load of towels and jeans on Thursday night around 8pm and there was nobody there until I was finished around 10 (washer is about 30 min, dryer about an hour), so I'm thinking I might start doing laundry on Thursdays right when I get home from work.
While I was downstairs, I put the alumni sticker on my car. I was a little worried that I wouldn't get it on good but it looks great!
Yesterday, I posted about wanting to go for a run but the weather getting in my way. Once the laundry was washed/dried/folded/put away, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather. It's a little humid (and thus kind of warm), but otherwise beautiful. I ended up going doing 4.13 miles in a little less than an hour, 53 minutes and 45 seconds. According to the pedometer on my iPod, that's about a 13 minute mile. Not great, but I'm not entering or winning a marathon anytime soon so I'll take it.
Still need to go to Target to return that picture frame and also hit up the grocery store for a few sandwich fixins for tonight. But first: shower.
