I've liked John Edwards for 5+ years. I like Obama very much, too, but some of the folks he's traveling with disturb me, and I do believe that politicians have to "dance with them what brung you" (=as Molly Ivins used to say). I am seriously impressed by his campaign finance ethics, and so on.
I am seriously worried when he's only a few points off of Hilary and Obama in a primary and his name never comes up in a newspaper or web news until way below the fold. He must scare the shit out of the American news and political machine, more than a woman or a black man. That, in itself, makes him interesting enough to rate at least a second look. or a third. Or, as I did today, a campaign contribution.
My brain isn't up for an in-depth discussion of the issues right now; I'll save them for later. I'm just saying it out loud: we should be Looking at Edwards seriously if we're looking for a candidate for change.
