Random Thoughts at 6 AM
If a space alien had landed in my driveway at 4 am and, seeing the light on, transported inside the house, politely asking (in English, of course) what I was doing, I would have said, "Attempting to fix an appliance designed by someone who clearly had no concept of what regular use of the thing was going to do to the mechanics, and, moreover, placed said mechanics where one must immerse one's hand in cold water constantly. Said appliance is, of course, installed under a shelf where one cannot see into the appliance but must grope around like a hormone-crazed teenager, lest one's water bill skyrocket and add stress to an already shaky budget."
With any luck at all, the space alien would have either eaten me immediately, thus ending my battle with this cranky, recalcitrant flapper, or touched the thing with a "fix everything inexplicably" tool and taken me out to a lovely breakfast.
Why do all the Vulcans in the "modern" Star Trek Incarnations (such as the later movies and Enterprise) wear Romulan hair styles? What happened to those long, ornate styles from TOS and the first 3-4 movies? More specifically, why does T'Pol wear her hair in that silly Bowl Cut and T'Pau (as younger) something that makes her look like a deranged elf?
When I am old and a member of the Red Hat Club, I'm going to amend the motherhood contract for all, so that parents of teenagers no longer are forced to lie in a light doze listening to their children cough violently all night long. It's bad enough when one's children are 3 or 4.
How can a HS teacher possibly sound perky at 5:45am?
I dislike strong flavor of cloves. Therefore, as Chief Cook, my poudre forte has none in it. Cook's idiosyncrasy rules.
