Stewart is right completely. Unfortunately, the difficulty with some debates with fundamental conservatives is their unwillingness or inability to look for the root (through elucidated discussion) of why they think (& why they were taught that) what they do, and it's mainly blind support of their peers.

The part about that each social movement in history being a (sometimes lengthy) battle is very true. Like Faulkner in his 1950 Nobel Prize speech, I'm optimistic that the ways of the human condition will eventually prevail. Though it may take hundreds or thousands of years globally, democracy will find itself more prevalent in future societies. This next part might sound really farfetched (I'm not sure if it's been proven/considered), but as a Biologist I think it'd be cool to show that democracy is evolving into a natural (physical) law/tendency, like Thermodynamics and Evolution, and then people will be like ah, ok.

Who is Bill Bennett? He's a nobody really, no actually he is someone with an opinion far opposite of Jon Stewart. That's why he is on the show and why they didn't ask me. I don't make for good television.

The day I look to a show on comedy central for intelligent political debate, well, I won't. Entertainment at best. Might as well be watching Shrek for insight into real human struggle.
