So, I have been a huge dork of a KISS fan my entire life. My dad took me to see them on the "Rock And Roll Over" tour in 1977 ....I was 3.
I still am and will always be a huge fan, but here is the review of the new KISS album "Monster" I sent to a couple of other dorks I know.

But I'm sure you have hit their crass and greedy nail right on the head.
You know I too was into them from 'Kiss' through to 'Rock n Roll Over'. By then punk had brought real, raw excitement just as Kiss were becoming showbiz through and through.
Just been listening to a lot of the remasters - 'Destroyer', 'Hotter than Hell', 'Kiss', 'Dressed to Kill'. In fact, I'm just heading out to the gym and think I'll listen to them thyere.
Saw them at Hammersmith Odeon, first UK tour, in '75(?).
Punk changed the way I looked at things so never saw them again. But never stopped listening to those old records.
When Peter and Ace left that was it for me. I always feel like that when half the band goes. The gang thing is lost. Besides, no guitarist after could replace Frehley's sound as part of Kiss.
Rich as Croesus Stanley and Simmons may be but, like it or not, they have mangled and pissed on their legacy. Completely destroyed their magick.
I'm sure they would either disagree or not care.
But the problem with the bore at the party is that he is a bore because he doesn't know when to shut up or when to leave. To turn something so exciting into something so boring is an achievement no one should wish to be remembered for.

a rare instance where they played "Flaming Youth" live, and at those shows, the band played in their new Destroyer costumes though the new stage set was the same as they had been using for the last few tours.... so the pics from that show always look weird.

I seem to think I remeber Flaming Youth. My dead dandy mate Sebastian was there and we were made up because it was our favourite song.
We were, of course, Flaming Youth.
Just got back from the gym and an hour of the buggers. Kiss that is, not the shaved and preening muscle bunnies.
