As if Anna Nicole coverage and Don Imus are not enough, the VA Tech Massacre has been turned into a media frenzy of the most disrespectful kind. I've heard form Ryan that his brother Jeff who is at Tech has had to deal with swarms of reporters and journalists, desperate for stories and to exploit the emotional trauma of the students and family. It gets even worse: www.cnn.com The front picture is one of the gunner holding a gun to the camera. Talk about exploiting drama to drive up ratings. This is insulting and disgusting. There is no such thing as standards anymore. People don't seem to care that it hasn't even been two days, they're all too fascinated with the violence and Anna Nicole's Baby's Daddy. The news and media love to play on some twisted fascination of violence and sex.
I'm disgusted. How can people exploit other people's pain and suffering? Whats worse is that if you give this another week or two, you won't hear a hint of it. It'll have disappeared, with the off hand comment here and there in regards to the shooter, because thats were the story is now.
