Half-Step, Take Back

HOLD UP.

YAY OR NAY?
Spending the next year abroad--teaching English in foreign countries, volunteering, etc..

I WANT YOUR OPINION!

I mean, I know I'm dying to go to college, but.. wouldn't a gap year just be the best thing ever?

...back to studying..

Nay

Do it after college. You'll be way better prepared for it and much more receptive to all sorts of new things.

Nay.

What Steve said, and you'll also be a year off from your peers and friends. You'll also be much older and more responsible (I've matured a lot in just this first year).

Many think a gap year helps prepare one for college. Statistically those who enter college after a year off do bett and are more mature than those who enter straight from high school.

Also, volunteering and helping in other countries is a comepletely different learning experience that will most like be more useful to your life than freshman year in college.

Take a year off.
Call Brown, get a deferment, and go make the world a better place.

I really must apologize for the heinous typos in my comment. I have been working on my research paper for hours now and my brain is like goopy oatmeal.

Nay. Taking your freshman year with all your friends and peers is really important, I say. Besides, being on your own is amazing, but it's a ton more fun with people your own age and situation. Freshman year of college is really super and necessary. You'll get good experiences either way, but I personally vote for staying with college.

Go to college with people your age. LEARN. LIVE. Then go teach and make more money and be more respected because of your education! XD
