Election

So I was going to put this on facebook but I felt hypocritical for ranting about my political views when compared to others ranting about theirs. so I'm dropping it here where it'll be seen, but not so openly.

The Election, according to a blue wolf; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KaOrSuWZeM
As a non-voter I won't complain about how the country is run. The people don't need poor leadership to make a mess, they can do it of their own. Show me a candidate that appeals to my niche, with zero drawbacks, zero lies, zero failed/missed/broken/twisted promises and I might show interest. I support many things on the basis of ideas, but lack of action, and 'this is great, but here comes the shit too' isn't good enough.
All this talk of the election, the back-and-forth, the whole thing about who's piss can flavour the ocean more... is summed up in the above linked video, according to my eyes. Please people, stop being outraged and instead be not only confident, but proud of your vote, none of this 'mostly good' bullshit either.

That is to say if you choose to have your say counted it shouldn't be the lesser of two evils, it should be the one that will do the most for you. it's your vote after-all. I mean I support the fiber to the home idea over to the node but did we all forget the conroy great aussie firewall thing? i'm still not happy about his attempt at that, what's to say he won't try it again?

lets look at another point; Family support. I'm all for families in need getting help to raise the next generation right. too bad though, I'm single with no kids. it's a non-issue for me personally. I don't care if party A wants to boost support or if party B wants to stop 'bad spending' of supported families. I'm not a family man.

On paper, I'm yet to see anything, any party can offer that appeals to me. even those promoting better public transport. sure more people on nice busses and trains might get them off the roads, where I like to be, but that doesn't make the existiing or remaining drivers any better on said roads, so it's still not selling me.

Then theres this whole greater good thing. they try to balance overall improvement but with sacrifice on other fronts, this simply doesn't fly in my book, it ends up being a dumb stalemate.

I cite an old pair of competing adverts "Oh they won't spend money where it's needed" well thats bad. "Oh they will spend money where it's not needed" well thats bad too... which do I choose?
TL:DR; I fucking HATE politics.
