We had a lovely dinner with a few friends on Saturday night. Lots of laughter, good food, homemade FLAN which was freakin' awesome (even if it made my stomach really unhappy later that night - totally worth it), and just being with folks. Today was napping (me in the AM, sillyviking in the PM), making apple crips and home-made-pretzel encased hot dogs.
Tomorrow I have off. The morning will see the makeup workshop at Abramson Cancer Center, then my first radiology treatment in the afternoon. Last Thursday, Sillyviking came with me so that he could meet my radiologist and see the machines I will be in for the next 2 months, and they gave me 2 more tattoos, bringing my total of little blue dots to 7. It stings when they do that. Also, we are SO going to have a discussion about the fake-metal music they actually turned up before they started working on getting the machine settings right.
The doctor showed us my CT-scan, especially where the breast cancer surgeon left 4 little clips so that they could find the spot where the original tumor was. Apparently the plastic surgeon left some clips as well, so the radiologist went to meet with the cancer surgeon to figure out which clips belonged to which specialist. Sillyviking said that was the most impressive thing there, even more so than the Star Wars type machines they use to blast you with radiation.
I did wear my radium t-shirt (glows in the dark!!) to dinner Saturday night. :-)
The other good thing this weekend was just a few minutes ago - my sister sent me a video clip of my great-niece, 2 whole years old, PLAYING POLO!!! Yes, they got her her own little mallet, she has a special saddle, and she was on top of my niece's HUGE white horse, which my niece was not leading by the reins. The horse just follows her around like a dog.
But yes, the 2 year old is learning to play polo.
Please shoot me before I collapse of teh cute.
