What a brilliant usage of work time (you writing this, me reading it).

I'm starting to dislike drabbles less. This was cute, the last few lines were adorable.

I wish Patrick had continued writing lyrics, they really weren't as bad as he makes them out to be, and he probably would have evolved and gotten better at it over time anyway. Not necessarily because I dislike, or have a problem with Pete's lyrics, and I love their songwriting dynamic. But someone called Patrick the next Cathy Davis in an article, and I thougt, yes he probably could be if only he wrote lyrics too.

sorry for the mini-rant, i'm not sure where that came from

I haven't heard Evening Out, so I know little to nil about his lyrics. Worth checking out?

A good bulk of his lyrics were actually on Take This To Your Grave. I believe he wrote Grenade Jumper & Calm Before The Storm, among others.

I don't know about Grenade Jumper, just because of what Chris has said about it :/

Is there a definative record somewhere of who wrote what? (since I don't have either of those albums on cd I can't check the liner, but fob tend to co-credit the entire band anyway)

Yeah, I've had that. Like when I'm talking to a depressed friend and I'm afraid of upsetting her already tenuous emotional balance, so I'll joke around because it's all I know how to do, and she winds up being completely cheered up. It's weird.
