Technophobia has at last been defeated by ego. I have been looking for some time for a way to conveniently share my rants, musings and poetry but have been limited by my 19th Century technological abilities. My daughter, Maureen promises that this will be easy. I hope so.
The title of this blog--is that what it is?--comes from a little poem by the Universalist, early bohemian and "poet of the people," Edwin Markham. He wrote in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was once immensely popular and is now largely forgotten. His little poem went as follows:
OUTWITTED
He drew a circle that shut me out--
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout.
But Love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle that took him in!
So what to expect? Well, there won't be angst ridden confessions or steamy sex stories. You'll find those on my daughter's blog. I plan to post here my various writings--poetry, essays, letters to the editor, historical pieces that either have either never seen the light of day or have been circulated only on a limited basis. I send a lot of stuff out by request on e-mail and my slothful ambition is to direct folks to this page to down load the stuff for themselves. More soon
