We close the Season of Nonviolence with this brief prayer:
Every day, I join others in this prayer for World Peace.
With each kind thought,
each choice for nonviolence,
we plant a seed that shall bloom
to bring forth rich fruit in its Season.
Together, friend, we till the soil and
plant the seeds that all creation may
sing for joy and dance in the
Garden of Peace.
May our prayers and practices
during this Season be but the beginning
of a new culture of peace, security and
joy that shall endure unto our
children’s children’s children.
Thank you for joining in this journey the last few weeks. I want to acknowledge that the Season for Nonviolence-I got the preposition in early but didn’t want to change it later for consistency’s sake-that the program was co-founded and
Association for Global New Thought in partnership with the United Centers for Spiritual Living Sacred Social Action Core; the Peace Team, a spiritual social action ministry of the Association of Unity Churches International; and the Universal Foundation for Better Living. Most of the material as quoted in my entry was adapted by the Peace and Justice Committee of the
Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Woodstock, Illinois. I edited and adapted some entries, and on two or three occasions added illustrating quotes not in the original material. I also selected the graphics to accompany each entry.
