海で自殺をしよう

Well, I went scuba diving on Sunday. I had a great time. My dad and I went on the same trip we did when we got certified: the Copenhagen wreck and the nursery. Two little reefs off of Pompano. I saw a lot of very cool fish. Angel fish, rock fish, parrot fish, trigger fish, little yellow fish swarming a big dome of purple coral, schools of bright blue fish, and all kinds of stuff. I touched a lazy needle-fish and poked a jellyfish a couple times. I also touched one of the flowery looking things on the coral that pop back into the coral as soon as you touch them. I also chased some fish, just to mess with them. Oh, and I saw two big ass puffer fish. My dad and I were on our own for the dive, so it was nice to have the freedom to go and do what we wanted. When we were getting certified we basically had to follow our instructor and try to behave ourselves to prove that we were competent divers. But on this one I just had fun and goofed around.

And on Saturday I had alligator meat for dinner. It was just the seared meat and had this margarita sauce on it with a little bit of some kind of creamy dressing on the side, and it was so damn delicious. I really hope they have alligator meat in Korea. Or that they at least have crocodile meat and that it tastes very good like alligator meat.

I leave for Atlanta on Tuesday. I have to have an interview at the consulate there in order to get my visa. It is going to be such a bitch. After the interview I have to wait a day or two for them to process and approve the visa, then I have to drive back down to Florida to hopefully make it in time for my flight Saturday morning. If it takes until Friday to get approval (two days), it is going to be very close. :/ The consulate is closed on Monday and Tuesday for no good reason, so I have to wait until Wednesday, and I don't really see any way around it. So I really need to get all my shit together by Monday so that I am pretty much ready to go to the airport as soon as I get my passport back from the Korean consulate.

I have not sent my friend Jiyoung a letter to let her know I am going to be living in Korea yet. I should really do that by Monday or Tuesday. It will probably be something very short and very crazy. "Hey, Jiyoung. I am going to be living in Korea now. Let's hang out sometime. Later." But it would be better than nothing.

I really need to study Korean more seriously than I have been. I also feel like I am not mentally prepared to begin teaching so soon. I have some thinking to do. And I think, for now, I am going to bed.
