My name's a teacher, or that is what I call myself
I like teaching because every semester is a fresh start. I can try new tactics, change old ones and stick with ones that work. Fresh faces will bring fresh energy to one course this semester; in another, I'll be working with students who were in class with me last semester. This is good because we'll be more comfortable with one another.
I tried a radically different approach to one of my courses last semester and received the best student evaluations I've ever received. This semester offers the opportunity to do it better. Teaching a course can always be done better.
The new semester starts tomorrow. I'm ready-and eager. It will be difficult to sleep tonight.
