Initial listen: Music-Lady Gaga-esque.
Subsequent listens: Music-Gaga plus strong influences of Laurie Anderson and Aimee Mann, but St. Vincent rocks harder, maybe because she plays a dirty electric guitar.
Lyrics: Smart like Mann but more abstract, but not too much.
Notes: When I listen to an album for the first time, I play it while I'm writing or reading news sites online. If the music gets my attention, it's a keeper. This one got my attention. It's a grower, but a rapid one.
