The long arm

I was cutting a tag off a new pillow today and saw the standard warning:

Under penalty of law this tag
Not to be removed
Except by consumer

And I got to thinking: Has anyone ever been arrested for removing the tag prematurely? Is the charge a felony or misdemeanor? If it's a felony, are the indictments handed down in federal or state courts? Does a conviction lead to prison time, jail time, a fine, or some combination of the three? Do these cases go to trial, or are plea deals usually offered and accepted?

The big question, of course, is why the media aren't covering this. The only reason I can come up with is that all media are liberal and tacitly support things like illicit tag-tearing.

I'll tell you this: Those liberals can tear away my tag when they pry my cold, dead fingers from it.
