Progress Report

Jun 13, 2006 11:15

Woke up at 6:15 am. Ate breakfast, got ready and left the house by 7:30. Arrived in Seattle by 8:00. Had some coffee1 and got myself mentally ready for the interview by 8:30. Sitting in the reception by 8:45. Walking to the conference room for my interview by 8:55. Finished the interview with a reasonable amount of confidence2 at 9:40. Listened to the pledge drive on KEXP3 while driving home and got back home by 10:00. Was told that I should hear from HR at Speakeasy in a couple hours about the job.

1. I'm actually not a very big fan of coffee. It tastes good, but the up and down feeling I get from it is unappealing. I don't have a very large intake of caffeine, because the stimulation from it doesn't last very long and the down from it affects me too much. Normally, the compelling desire to take a nap two hours after drinking it is not good. It's a nice treat to give myself on occasion, when I don't have anything important to do later, though.
2. The interview felt quite good. I feel that I paced myself, didn't talk too fast and handled the technical questions with a reasonable amount of knowledge. I definitely feel like I would fit in and do quite well in this job, and I feel like I projected that confidence throughout the meeting.
3. My membership to KEXP expired earlier this year. I depend on this station for my musical sanity and it just doesn't feel right to not be doing my part by donating money. As soon as I am gainfully employed again, KEXP will receive it's dues.
