It's easier to read stories than to write them
Due to some bills plus going out and playing earlier this week, I ran out of money and have been staying in for the past two days. I have been ignoring NaNoWriMo (big surprise) and instead, I've been taking in as much media as possible. I finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix yesterday and am now halfway through Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I watched Sideways earlier today and I watched a marathon of that Jason Lee show 'My Name is Earl'.
Sideways is an interesting movie. About two guys that go on an adventure for a week before one of them gets married, it starts out a little slow. After a little bit of time, it really starts moving, and by the end of the movie, it's really entertaining. I like the characters and I can really see people I know echoed in their actions. The passion for pleasures in life, like wine or sex, driving the characters to do things that they may know is wrong but throwing that care into the wind for the thrill of the moment. It makes them human and these faults make them interesting. I think I may have to give it a second view before I mail it back to netflix.
How come no one told me that My Name is Earl is one of the best shows on tv? I mean, I wanted to see it before just because Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee are funny, but this show is better than just your standard funny sitcom. This will be one to rent when it starts being released on dvd.
Harry Potter is corrupting my brain and the fact that when I finish Half-Blood Prince, I'm going to have to wait like everyone else until book 7 comes out makes me cross. Oh well. This series is really good, but once I finish it I'm going to have to go back to the Dark Tower and finish that.
