Apparently, someone tried to go on an online shopping spree with my credit card this morning.

I was awakened by a phone call from Visa fraud prevention, asking if I'd made a charge at 7:30am for $250 (I'm rounding off) at some site with the word "sports" in the title (I'm thinking tickets to a game, or something, judging by the amount, and site name).

So, they successfully charged that amount, and apparently tried a $500 charge just a few minutes later, which my credit union (whom I have the card with) blocked, since it seemed fishy, and called me immediately.

My card has now been de-activated, and they're sending me a new one with a new number. I have to go in to the credit union this afternoon to sign an afidavit stating I didn't make the charge, and it will be credited back to me.

Never a dull moment in this life. ;)

I will never again grumble to myself when they call me over a charge I DID make online, I'll tell you that much.
