San Francisco with Mike

Yesterday in San Francisco was, to pull out my most over-used phrase, "good times."

We ate at a great restaurant called Neptune's Palace, which is at the edge of Pier 39, with a marvelous view of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, etc. Very tasty food there, as well. I had a seafood medley that had shrimp, scallops, and several types of fish over pasta. Awesome. Even the bread there was great.

OH! Yeah. I haven't mentioned I'm eating seafood, have I? Yes, I've started eating seafood again. I just felt... icky without it. I think I have one of those bodies that needs fish. I sure DON'T need any other kind of meat, though, my body absolutely hates it. Plus, yeah... I have an odd spiritual connection with animals. I know I should include fish in that, but, thus far, I don't find myself sobbing after consuming seafood like I would with anything else.

I kill spiders and eat fish, but I'm like, Miss In Love With Critters -- I'm a freak. We already know that.

So, then, of course, I had to see my sea lions (as amandazillah knows all too well) while we were on the pier. We drove around a bit, thinking about where to go next; after a while, we ended up near Ocean Beach (that one between the zoo and Cliff House -- if you're familiar with the city), which was absolutely gorgeous! :)

Then, we randomly ended up in the Castro area, and I overheard ladies talking about Mint Karaoke Lounge (somewhere I'd wanted to go in December), and how close it was, so I was like "hey Mike, want to go hear drunk people sing?" ;)

So, we did that until they stopped karaoke for the night (about 2am), then we headed back toward Sacramento, and stopped at a Denny's in San Pablo, to refuel, so to speak.

Very excellent time, for sure.
I'm very happy.

We have a dinner date for tomorrow, as well. :-D

san francisco, mike
