I thought it was high time I post more stuff from the December 14 Barenaked Ladies show in San Francisco. Here are some photos I took, and some random details about meeting them.
I want to mention something I forgot to before: the 'moment' of sorts Ed and I had when we took our photo. Eileen was getting my camera ready to take the shot, and I said to Ed, "a mish-mash of cameras" (since she was holding both hers and mine at once). Then she asked something about it (just where to look through, if I remember right).
Ed goes, "Wow, imagine that, an old school camera" (the only one there that wasn't digital... seriously). I said "Yeah, with film you have to get developed and everything." He laughed (best. laugh. ever.) and said "Wowwww" in the tone of voice you'd use while seeing like, a museum exhibit. *squeee* We said a few more words to each other on the same topic, because neither of us can let a joke go (ha ha), but that's the part I remember really well.
So, here are some meet and greet shots. I'll write a bit of the story under the photos as we go along, here. ;)
Kevin and Jim as they walked in. Basically, all the guys came in and stood mere feet from us while they played a trivia game with us, and gave their Barenaked On a Stick pre-loaded memory stick out as a prize.
Steve looks on as Tyler does his best "deer in the headlights."
The guys reading the trivia questions (each asked one, therefore, there were five questions, and five prizes given). Here are the questions (I wrote them down when I got back to my hotel room, so I wouldn't forget), these were all multiple choice, by the way:
Q: What food product is thrown on stage at shows? (Jim asked that)
A: Kraft Dinner (because of a song lyric), followed by them all saying "please don't!" in unison. Someone did throw plain, dry macaroni during the concert, by the way... Steve was all "security's just so lax... there are at least 42 noodles on the stage right now." :-D
Q: What was the first number one single in the United States? (Steve read this one)
A: "One Week"
Q: What country are Barenaked Ladies from? (Tyler asked this)
A: Canada (like... dur). The other choices were Zimbabwe, and Lithuania, I believe.
Q: What is the third track on the album 'Born on a Pirate Ship?' - Kevin read this one (Ed: "I don't even know this one... seriously. I don't.")
A: Fan with hand up said, "I Know." Kevin said, "that's right." Ah, the joy of having a song titled "I Know" in situations like this (This was the only question I didn't know the answer to, by the way).
Q: Which member of Barenaked Ladies is crazy about video games? (Ed asked)
A: "You" said the fan. :) Ed said "No, Ed Robertson is what we were looking for. Oh, okay, I'll accept that." *snort*
a shot I snagged before the fans started going up for the KFOG group pics
Had my Ed and Steve moments after this... Ed in a little area between the lobby and auditorium (he basically came out there with the meet and greet fans, so that didn't take much effort on my part), and Steve in the lobby (he was being totally mobbed, so that took a bit more hutzpah).
