Question: If you could make a live action movie (and have to localize it) What would it be? Give examples.
If I could make a movie based on an anime it would probably be "Utena" Not that I'm a HUGE Utena fan but I think it would be a good movie. Its English title would be "The Duelist" and the tag line would be "How far would you go to save your friend?" I hadn't figured out the plot but I do know that I would insert humor that some fans would get or find funny. Example.
Utena: Why is your brother so obsessed with cars?
Anthy: You don't like cars?
Utena: Not really. I have weird nightmares about cars.
Anthy: What kinds of nightmares?
Utena: One time I had this nightmare I was sucked into a car wash and became a car.
Anthy: Wow... that is weird.
and
Utena: All I want to know is... How you guys always get up here so fast!?
Touga: Elevator
Utena: Elevator!? THERE'S AN ELEVATOR!?
Anthy: Did I forget to mention that?
I would try not to change names but I haven't thought about what I would change them to if I had to. Anyways. This only lasted as long as I toileted. *laughs* Oh well.
