Padme is a ~senator~; she's very good at using peoples' arguments against them (especially Anakin's). Obi-Wan's all like *sigh* and doesn't even bother to ask why Padme knows something's going on.

------

Ahsoka couldn't even bring herself to say goodbye. It wasn't the Jedi way to mourn, but she couldn't help feeling like something had been ripped away from her as she stood in the middle of the Council chambers and was told that she would no longer be Anakin Skywalker's Padawan.

She'd wanted to argue. Wanted to tell them that as long as Anakin knew what he'd done wrong, and got the help he needed, he was no more a danger to her Jedi training than anyone else. But in her heart, she knew it was a lie. The vision she'd had on Mortis kept replaying in her head - You may never see your future if you remain his student - over and over.

So when she and her new Master left for the mid-rim, she didn't say goodbye. If she'd known she'd never see him again, though, she might have taken the time and weathered the pain. As it was, Order 66 made sure she never saw her future anyway.

Initial reaction: AAAHH NOOO AHSOKA NOOOO

Better reaction: Ahsoka's characterization/POV is perfect, here. I like the mention of her vision on Mortis, and that she's better at keeping a stiff upper lip than her Master, really.

It's a trilogy, nicely knit. pronker September 1 2011, 15:31:55 UTC
It's good -- the tie in to ROTS works especially well, since Anakin looked wrung out with fatigue in the movie and Obi-Wan looked all right. I liked how Padmé pushed him out the door with those words; she really couldn't have handled him in a rage and shouldn't have had to.

I can't get over the idea that something really horrible happened to Anakin between TCW and RotS, even at the beginning of it he's kind of a mess.
