Close Encounters of the Indy Kind

May 29, 2008 16:59

Went with mom and brother last night to see Indy. I knew exactly what they were trying to set up for from the first scene and hoped I wouldn't see if come to fruition... sigh. I wavered between "ok, that's cool" to "no, thats stupid" a number of times and sadly ended up on stupid.

My brother almost left the theatre at the big climax and said nothing until blurting out "the man in flannel must DIE" in the parking lot and has dubbed the movie as the title of this post.

So I guess the gist is... its not a good movie. Its also not *bad* per se (things blow up, one-liners, russians... its hard to see how anyone can go too far off with that). But I'm leaning towards believing that it wasn't an Indy movie... that way I feel better about everything.

Maybe I should blame Ironman for coming out first and being really good.

PS where is the trailer for The Dark Knight?! Seriously, I probably would have been happier with this movie if they'd given me some hope for the future...
