It was far too cold to be walking around out in the snow for the hell of it, so Riku waited inside a cafe at a small table near one of the corners-- furthest from the door. It was well heated inside, but he didn't want to be anywhere near the door and the winter chill outside with it. That seemed to be the popular idea among customers, as most were

At first she was stunned silent looking a little annoyed. "So sorry boy, those things are just ancient. A spring must of..." She tried to smooth things over and seemed to go with Sora's story but didn't sound opposed to them leaving to take their date else where. "I'll get right on that."
She hurried off taking their food to wrap it and Sora let out a relieved breath. "Riku, you okay? She didn't seem to notice or... maybe we should just leave the money and go." He bite his lower lip catching site of Riku's red ear, the boy was blushing hard. "You're going to pop a blood vessel in your cheeks at this rate." He tried hard not to laugh since they could of gotten into a lot of trouble had the waitress not wanted them to leave so badly.

He was frusterated. He knew that much... but at what was a mess of personal and general aggravation in his head. Neither of which he really cared to talk about. There was a dull throb in his head already growing from the still-burning (and not-fading-fast-enough) heat in his face, which he still seemed to be self-conscious about and rubbing at it as if that would make the red go away any faster.

Riku didn't want to hear that, and that was clear in his tone. He really wasn't certain what to say, but he was fairly certain that that may have been a good thing. He didn't much feel like ranting in the middle of the street. And Sora didn't need that either, even if it was only to yell mostly at himself.
So he stayed quiet, lowering his head a bit to peer more at the sidewalk and he walked.

He noticed automatically and shut his eyes a bit, forcing a breath through his nose before shaking his head and starting foreward again. 'Way to go. That's going to make him feel better,' he thought.

It didn't quite come out so he simply turned to leave instead.
'Sorry,' he thought, though that refused to come out aloud either.

Great... He felt something stinging his eyes and shook his head, "Sorry Riku." He says a little shakily as he tries to keep his pitch under control and turns his face away when the doors to elevator open.

He couldn't just up and leave Sora like that. Not only had he fucked up their first date, he'd thrown his boyfriend's good mood down in the dumps. That's not what a relationship is supposed to be. The least he could do was apologize... at the very least. Decidedly, he turned back 'round and started at a fast-paced walk towards the dorm building before growing into a jog.
When he was inside, he stopped at their door, hoping Sora was in there. He opened the door slowly, quietly...
"Sora...?"

His head snapped up when he heard Riku's voice and quietly rubbed his eyes to brush away anything that managed to slip out. "Y-yeah?" He answers, trying to keep his voice level but he heard it crack and the words come out in a whimper. His mind scolding him for it he take a deep breath to calm himself and places his hands back on the bed beside him before looking up at Riku with a forced smile. "That was fast..." He breaths out the words along with his held breath.

"I didn't mean to go off on you. I was just..." he paused to sigh, "I was just frusterated."

"Frustrated... about what? About what I did...?" The smaller boy says in the same gentle he used when he tried to get Riku to tell him what was wrong. Even as kids when Riku'd run away from home and sneak in his window in the dead of night, he'd have to fight to get any information from him. Fight through all the 'I'm fine. It's nothing. Shut up and go back to sleep!' His eyes more determined than his voice looking ready to go threw that fight again.

"But don't worry about it, okay?"
Giving him a half-smile, he stood back up, thinking he was going to get away with just that.
