Even in death he is like her, stubborn and alone. The jungle breathes around them, sighs a song to drown out the others, unimportant (they'll find their way long before she and Jack).
His body is slick with rain and sweat, the worries of a made-up world she could never see. "Never thought I'd see past die alone," he confesses, nervous laugh, hands tight through soggy curls.
"The island cares for its own, Jack."
