The Iliad, the Odyssey, the Inferno~
All the stuffy, long-winded books seem to be here. Knowing him, Isaak will probably find a lot of books that would suit his taste.
Now, if only the library has some sort of device that read Alice in Wonderland aloud to me. It would then be perfect. I wonder if I could find any material here pertaining to my

Anyway... A novel of note, since you're asking, would have to be Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften -or "The Man Without Qualities"- by Robert Musil. He was apparently something of a big name back where I came from, and I figured that I should go back and read it... but it's a bit pretentious and I got pretty pissed with it by the end of the second novel. If you're in the mood for classics like the Illiad and the Odyssey, maybe you should look into whether or not the library has a quality translation of Beowulf or the Epic of Gilgamesh?
...And who's starving, eh?

It is a little boring after the excitement over the undead has worn off, though my fellow housemates still amuses me.
I like listening about their worlds! It is very different from the world where I originated from.

Beowulf, I am familiar with. But I cannot say I remember reading the Epic of Gilgamesh. What is it about, if I may ask?

I do not mind telling you, but you will have to offer me something in return.

-And isn't it, though? 'Tedious' is probably a kind word for it... This 'Isaak' person gets a lot of mention. A friend of yours from 'back home,' I assume?
You haven't heard of the Epic of Gilgamesh? Your world is definitely different, if that's the case... Especially you, with an apparant fondness for ancient works like The Odyssey, should know about it- they say that Homer may have taken some imspiration from it. Then again, who knows? That text could have been lost in your world, at least by the time anybody but the Ancient Greeks were looking for it. And maybe even beforehand, if we wanna' get into the possibility that we may all have read different versions of The Odyssey in our original worlds depending on the circumstances of histery. It's a huge headache, all of this 'butterfly effect' crap-

Quid pro quo, is it? I don't have a problem with those terms.
If we're going to start this off nice and fair, please- feel free to ask me a question. We'll see what comes next, then.

I have heard of the Epic of Gilgamesh, but I am afraid it was not part of the approved literature that I was allowed to read then. And when I was allowed to make my own choice and have my own say, I was too busy to have time for leisurely reading.

Questions and answers, I am not interested in. Rather, I am more interested in a skill you possess~
In exchange, I will do a favour for you.
[ooc; And this is where my muse will attempt to mooch off Mello and probably Mikami (without playercesting) for the rest of his time here D: If it is not okay, poke me and I'll re-edit! ❤]

Not part of the approved literature...? Your name and some of the things that you've been saying to others... well, it seems as though you have a highly religious and overtly Christian culture where you come from. Is that a correct assessment? I say this because, it seems to me at least, that works created by 'heathen cultures' like the Sumarians and Assyrians wouldn't be entering your usual reading allowances, in such a cultural situation.
I see. You must be in an interesting position, if you've got people around to do things for you without having to be your 'friend.' Are you a noble, maybe? Or just a boss?
-But, that's a bit much to ask, I suppose, if we're staying away from Q&A. What is it you were wanting to barter for, then? Goods and services?

But you get only 20 points!
The world I originate from is highly religious. The Vatican is a powerhouse who has enough power to influence other countries’ decisions and politics, though influence may be too nice a word to use.
But no, religion plays no part in my reading material at the time. The people around me merely found it unnecessary that I read literature from other culture that does not concern ours. Really, such bigots! I ended up reading a lot of German literature and whatever they found important and general enough for me to be able to find common topic with the others ( ... )

Huh. So you're getting a grand selection of texts in German and you're in a highly religious Catholic-run society... Interesting. Very different than mine. I don't suppose your world ever had something referred to as the "Second World War?"
...Meals. Meals? You're asking me to cook for you? I-... if information can be given to me more freely for my services, I might consider it but- you assume I'm any good at cooking?

I suppose I have confused you. Well, I suppose this is what I get for assuming that you are like Dietrich or Isaak. Those two can guess what I want to say before I even bring it up.
Religion only became more... restrictive much later. I was given a free choice of reading materials, though what I had to choose from was already approved by-probably a committee or something akin to that, beforehand.
The Second World War?
But, of course.
It happened long before I ‘born’.
As long as you can make fish and chips, I think you are good to go. I am not a fussy eater~
[ooc; HE LIES!! D: He is known to canonically throw food to the floor if it doesn’t suit his tastes. And I am so BS-ing on the World War part because TB follows rl history until… well, human went to Mars. XD;]
