Just a not-actually general statement

If you're going to sit around, shit all over and endlessly harp and bitch about one particular site, talking about how you could do X, Y and Z better and how A, B and C are crap. I have a groundbreaking, mindfuckingly astounding suggestion for you.

Why don't you shut your fucking piehole and actually try. If your punk ass is so gobsmackingly ( Read more... )

I wouldn't characterize Furries that way. Furries generally draw, make, write things, or support those who do. Generally.

SoFurry.com is the website that replaced Yiffstar, and with Furnation is one of the most complained-about websites in the fandom.

I think what is interesting is that many people I know out there DO actually do better. And do it for their day job. And they are rarely the ones bitching vocally about things.

They do sometimes shake their head at the train-wrecks though.

Perhaps an interesting corollary: People who do things better can do so because they spend their time improving their skills instead of complaining about everyone else's.

I'm terribly piqued about which site this is in regards to... And honestly I'd love to build a better version of plenty of sites out there, if only I had the time and resources. =P FurBuy alone keeps my paws pretty full. I suppose I'm one of the folks who "DOES IT", however there's only so much you can do while working a full-time job. =/

But yes, I actually get the "I could build a better auctions site than you!" thrown in my face pretty regularly, to which I shrug and encourage them to give it a whack. So far I haven't seen anything that impresses me, or the rest of the auction community apparently. The latest attempt, a place called The Dealer's Den, is using a canned sales system that looks like dick and they nickel and dime sellers as well. I guess the upswing of them coming around is that I'm actually busting my tail adding new features to FurBuy including storefronts... Competition is good. =)
