OOC: Memory 1
Upon his encounter with the strange bird and receiving a memory crystal, he took care to not accidentally use it until he was ready for what he was about to see. He had been heading to work, after all, and it would be bad for him to be late for his job. Therefore, he waited until later to use it, keeping the crystal wrapped up until he did. He was also... scared of what he might discover.
Once he used the crystal, within the safety of his own home, he was engulfed by a white light.
After the white light faded, Knight found himself looking at what was a burning town. He found himself seemingly running after two people, a man and a woman. The man said to him, "This way!" He stopped and began to speak to Knight. "Hurry! We must get away or we'll all be killed by *****." ...Wait, killed? What kind of sick joke was this?
Suddenly, behind the two people, he could see someone else. It was the only figure he could see clearly. It was... Red?! Red approached them, saying, "Who did you say is going to kill you?" There seemed to be something off about his voice. As if he sounded somewhat demented or psychotic... Was this the real Red? He stood before the two, drawing his swords, saying, "The people of Palmacosta have aided the Vanguard and undermined the authority of the Church of Martel and the Chosen." He held the blade towards. "The punishment for this crime... is death!" He leapt towards them. His vision seemed to fade out, but he could still hear something. The woman cried out in pain. He heard himself cry out, "Mom!", and then the man said "****, run! Get away from here!" Then the sound too faded. Did Red seriously just kill those people? No... not just people... his parents?!
He found himself next looking at a girl, on the ground, a red light throbbing from her shadowed figure. He wasn't sure why, but she seemed familiar to him. The girl looked at him, and asked "...Are you the one who saved me?" He wanted to respond, but was interrupted by a strange noise. It was the same noise he heard in his first dream. "What was that?", he thought, and as if the girl was responding, she said, "That's Tenebrae's howl..." He found himself walking away at that point, saying "I... I have to go...", and she cried out after him, "Wait! What's your name?"
Next, he found himself looking at the people from before... His parents. His "father" seemed to be dead, but his "mother" stirred when he drew close. She seemed to say to him "****, you came back. Oh dear, I can't even see your face. I'm not going to last much longer, but you... you have to live. You have to run, before ***** comes back! Go to Luin, to your Aunt! Hurry..." She then collapsed on the ground.
His vision began to become clouded by tears, as he reached towards her now-dead body. "M-mom..." He heard himself say. "Mom!", he cried, choking back those tears.
