What I want to know is...what is with this current influx of people who 'must' have music playing on their answering machine message? Is there a certain reason WHY you must play music on your answering machine? Does it make you cooler? How about more popular? There has got to be a reason for this sheer idiocy that I must endure when I call about 94% of people's cell phones in the greater Philadelphia area. People, let's think logical for a second. No one wants to hear music on your answering machine. If I wanted to listen to a song, I'd turn on the radio or buy the CD of the artist--NOT call your cell phone. To show everyone how retarded of a process this is, I'm going to break down the sequence of events when dialing a typical Philadelphian cell phone (note that I said typical, so this doesn't include some people for the hardcore posters who don't know how to read into things):
It takes almost a minute for the phone to ring to even get to the message. After that, it takes another three minutes to listen to the computer generated woman tell you HOW to leave a message (like we couldn't figure it out ourselves). Finally, after you just wasted four minutes of your life, you must now spend another 2-3 minutes listening to some crappy song that will end with the message you have been waiting for the time entire time.
These are the type of people who also are confused as to why no one leaves them a message. They say, "[Name] keeps calling me but I have no idea why! Why don't they just leave a message?" Well, douche bag, if you would just try and have a normal message like "Hey, leave a message," maybe you would feel like a superstar once and a while and have a fan leave a message. Just a thought.
