Not wasting any effort on other matters when I have a movie review to do...

Movie Review: Toy Story 3 3D

Quite some time has passed since the second movie, in that Andy, owner of the film's heroes, heroines and whatever you might call a heroic pig, tyrannosaurus or potato, is about to go to college, leaving the toys with an uncertain future. Exactly where fate leads them, and how they deal with that, forms the backbone of a highly enjoyable movie that would be well worth the price of admission AND refreshments, even without the 3D content, which certainly doesn't weigh the movie down.

There will be times when you get something of a lump in your throat - the sight of Andy's empty bedroom was rather poignant for me personally, given the now increasingly likely life-changes I'm expecting - and the last couple of minutes will challenge everyone's tear ducts...

Despite the sad moments, there are still ample opportunities for fun and adventure - and a villain who smells of strawberries. If this is the last time we see Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest, they've had a truly endearing send-off. Watch, enjoy - even cry if you have to. Terrific fun.

Oh, and make sure you're seating in time for the traditional Pixar short - "Night And Day" is magical, and worth a solid 9+ out of 10 on its own. A fantastic use of 3D!

The Low-Down... A third movie in a series that doesn't suck? Trust Pixar to deliver the movie that breaks the pattern. Could be the best non-Iron Man movie you could be seeing this summer... 8.5/10 on its own; 9 with "Night And Day"

Oh, and watch out for the TRON Legacy trailer, if you get it. Christmas is definitely a whole lot more interesting now!

Elsewhat... So that's Day 1 over and done, but you couldn't properly call it a full day. Tomorrow will be... interesting - and chronicled in the all-new i.Resist blogosite...!
