Did the Motor Show yesterday & it wasn't as bad as I expected although my feet are killing me! I don't have the same depth of feeling when it comes to cars that DH (& much of the male population for that matter) has. I can appreciate a nice looking car but I so don't get men posing next to wildy expensive cars having photos taken by their mates. Although I do admit to taking a pic of a car & send it to DS who prompted asked if I could get the front view as well! The teenagers swarming around the Pimp My Ride mobiles were amusing. These are the vehicles that have souped up everything, the insides ripped out & replaced by sound systems that make your ears bleed & fancy paint jobs. Quite often they looked like they were having a religious experience:-)
The absolute best bit for me was the life sized knitted & crocheted Ferrari!! I can't remember the name if the artist, Laura something I think. I took a pic which I'll bung on Flickr. It had been knitted in panels that looked about 12" square, the detailing (lights, emblem etc) had been crocheted of embroidered. It must have taken ages!
Then we saw Jools Holland & he was great! Even DH liked it & I was worried he wouldn't after Van Morrison last week. No chatty woman this time just the woman in front of DH touching his knees every few minutes. She so wanted to lounge back in her seat with one arm or the other draped over the seat back but they were so close together all she kept doing was leaning on DH's knees & then apologising. DH said if he'd touched a woman's knees that often he'd have been arrested!
The downer to the day was that all the walking seriously did his back & I have a headache but that could just be the heat.
