DH has hurt his back! He wants to sell his Land Rover (yes, the one he fell off shattering his cheek bone a year ago) so was sweeping it, twisted & has done something that really hurts. He wouldn't even come to my sister's yesterday for a barbie. He takes 2 different painkillers each day for knee & hip pain but only takes half the prescribed dose. He's upped it at the mo! I have been sloshing him with some herbal oil I got for my shoulder pain. It's a Chinese medicine version of Deep Heat - gets very warm & clears the sinuses too as it's a bit whiffy although not an unpleasant smell. But his job involves getting in & out of cars all day so lots more twisting around.
He was most put out that the Landy didn't sell on ebay but 2 people have come to the house to see it.
I went to see my big sis yesterday & went for a lovely walk, just the two of us, to a beautiful place near where she lives in Wellingborough. It used to be gravel pits but have been flooded & there a loads of walks, bike trails, bird hides, assault course. The list goes on. It is a beautiful place. We stood for ages on a bridge just watching the dragonflies, what I think were sand martins, fish & assorted birds of all shapes & sizes. The kids play area is fantastic with water features. All the seating has been carved from old trees. There were thrones, grasshoppers, fish etc. It is amazing what someone can do with an old log & a chainsaw! My fav were some bullrushes as tall as a house dotted around the main ranger station/car park. Will be as nice as Salcey & Wendover once it's fully up & running. Would be great for an OBCZ but it's too far out for me.
Had a lovely time at Wendover Woods on Saturday. I drove with Korky, Weebly & Weebly-boy as passengers/navigators. It is beautiful place too. Unfortunately, the heavens opened so we had to cancel the planned releasing walk around the woods & settle for a live bookswap instead with lots of chatter. I met Katybean, Twicky, Wubbaducky, herrgirl & friend whose name escapes me (sorry), Teachie & Angellica who had come down from Sheffield way with her lovely family & they had their little BCUK polo shirts on too.
Yikes! DH will be back from work soon & I'm still in the same position as when he left at lunch time - in front of the PC!
