Last fall, I took three or four pumpkins, cooked them, and make a lot of fresh pumpkin puree, which I then froze in 1 cup quantities. I've been using it since then for pumpkin bread, waffles, and of course cookies.
Well, I used the last of it making cookies on Friday, and Sam wanted me to make some for him to take to work, so I bought some canned pumpkin puree.
For the record, I didn't think this would make a bit of difference.
Except that it has. Ugh. They aren't horrible, but they aren't so exceptional anymore either. So I'm going to go looking for pumpkins at Harry's, I think. Hopefully we aren't too far off the season.
