• I read these new stories about people "staying put in the face of Ike," but yet you know that some of them will inevitably need the efforts of the Coast Guard and other rescue workers. Honestly, I think that's unconscionable. If you have the ability and the means to evacuate ahead of a huge storm such as this, and yet you don't, running the risk of putting others in harm's way? That's really shitty of you. JMO.
• I bought gas this morning with no line and about a 15 cent increase over yesterday's price. Annoying, but whatever. I've been looking at the local news, though, and apparently in some locations they're charging an enormous account - $4.51 in, I think, Forsyth County. They're going up and down or something. Bah. It has to be gouging at this point, I hate to tell the gas station owners.
