A Lesson from a Lost Parrot

Here's a portion of a letter sent to me from the ministry Songtime. I used to love listening to their show each day at my last job. They had a weekly prophecy edition which I particularly enjoyed, but this piece is about evangelism. I wish I could do a better job of it myself and pray about it often. Anyhow, here ya go...

'Some neighbors living a few streets from me are dealing with the loss of a favorite parrot. Somehow he got out of his cage and then out of the house. because I saw the parrot on my back fence and responded to the leaflet they had left - I have witnessed a frantic search, tears, leaflets, hours of searching plus a reward. Because I love animals, I can identify because the parrot is so young it has to be hand fed and will die if not found soon. I do hope I can help them but the incident caused me to say - " God if we will put this kind of effort into finding a lost parrot - help me to see souls that are lost and need to be rescued." Charles Spurgeon put it this way:

"If sinners be dammed, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there UNWARNED or UNPRAYED for."'
