Oh dear God. It's started.
Um ... I don't know quite how to say this ... but I just wrote True Blood fanfic.
"What's the big deal?" I hear you ask? Well ... see ... it might be slightly ... porny.
"So what, Patch?" you say. "Isn't all fanfic just thinly veiled pornographic fantasy? Or sometimes not even thinly veiled?"
Well, sure ... but this is ... okay, I'm just gonna say it ... it's incest fic.
Wow. There that is.
Okay, okay, before you judge, permit me a minute to explain! It wasn't my fault. Seriously, it was NOT my fault. I was on LJ for the first time in weeks, and upon realising my flist is full of updates from Criminal Minds, Bones and Lost fic communities, I realised that my latest addiction (True Blood), was severely absent. So I did a search, and found tb_kink ... oh come on, don't look at me like that, what would you have done? I scrolled through the prompts, adding my enthusiasm for a few of them, raising my eyebrows in mild shock at others - and then kicking my own judgemental ass, because as I stated in my last post, I'd had a plot bunny in the back of my head for a while that would surely raise a few eyebrows and make a few people think OMG Patch is a sick fucking freak let's all stare at her.
But this one is even more .. um ... edgy? I guess? ... than the one I had planned. It just kind of came to me - a few people had written prompts about Sam/Tommy fics, and there were a couple of Jason/Sookie ideas there too (and while I'm playing true confessions, I have to admit there was a vague Jason/Sookie bunny hopping around the outskirts of my brain a few weeks ago too, so I guess a few of us think of Flowers In The Attic when it comes to those guys), and suddenly I got the idea for a Tara/Lafayette fic, and well ... I wrote it.
It's not done yet, it's sort of in a detailed draft phase, and I may chicken out or die of shame before I actually post it. But I wrote it. I guess nothing is sacred in my head anymore ... I guess I should start writing Twilight fic, because it's all downhill from here!
Just a quick disclaimer though: I'm not judging other people who read/write this stuff. I just never thought I'd go there. I'm not exactly morally opposed - I'm not part of the Supernatural fandom, but I've read the odd Wincest fic and liked it. Weasleycest squicks me - Fred and George will always be minors in my head, and the Wincesters are at least adults. I know it doesn't matter all that much, being that this is fiction, and noone really needs to get all offended and butthurt over a few fictional characters, do they? No, they totally don't. Haters to the left, and all that.
