Alright, another LiveJournal update/warm-up. But it's late and I need to get work done, so this one will go as quick as I can make it.
-I just spent the better part of my evening making a 'Batman' for my D&D world. Very geeky, I know. But time well spent. Lvl 14 (6 Monk, 4 Monk of the Enabled Hand, 2 Deep Avenger, 2 Justiciar)
-Before that, I spent a good part of my evening watching David Duchovny in "Californication." The show is mediocre, but I could seriously watch that man act as a corpse and be enthralled. As long as he occaisonally spoke as well.
-Before that, I spent much much much of the afternoon walking. I made a new friend last night. Her name is Fanny and she is from France. We went to the Royal Botanical Gardens and then to the Salsbury Crags. She is here to study chemistry for the summer, but only arrived two weeks ago. It was a good day with plenty of exercise and sunshine. I will sleep well tonight.
-Thinking of sleeping well. Lately, I've been going to bed listening to Dan Carlin on my iPod. Highly reccomended for those mildly amused by politics (as I only have been since being separated from my homeland). His speaking style might be really annoying at first (he talks in bursts) but that is part of what makes it great to sleep to. Also, he's not a douchebag at all. And his history show is mildly amusing too (if politics isn't your thing) (To be fair, I suppose, I would call it more social commentary rather than political commentary, but it definitely has a political slant).
-Anyway, before my walk, I worked on my dissertation all morning. But did not get as far as I would have liked, thus my return to it in 8 minutes. While I am thinking of it and writing here, did you know the new standard for publication is only one space after end stops (periods)? It's odd to get into the habit, but now that I am I like it. 'Just have to go back and fix those first 10,000 words I guess....
-Other news, I am itching to buy a new video game. Final Fantasy IV for DS is coming out soon, and I hear Advance Tactics Whatnot is good as well. Still, I tell myself, no new games until a draft is done.
-Umm... well... maybe I should just get to work. No other new fresh ideas are pouring from my mind quite yet. Alright. As usual, its been my pleasure. 'til later.
