Today is Allegra and my third Valentine's Day together. I wouldn't have thought it possible, but I love her even more now than I did on our first Valentine's Day. She has made me so incredibly happy and made me believe in myself and helped me to become a better person. It's not really possible to put how I feel into words, but I'll try. So here is my list of twenty things I love about Allegra.
1. She has the most beautiful eyes I have ever looked into. Whether she is happy, sad, angry, crying or laughing, her eyes remain the most gorgeous thing in the world to me.
2. When she really laughs uncontrollably she kind of crinkles her nose and her eyes, and she is never more beautiful to me than when that happens.
3. She reads EVERYTHING she gets her hands on. Whether it's a catalogue from Coles, an instruction manual for an appliance, Cosmo, New Scientist, books, Wikipedia articles, the news...it's like her brain is just constantly trying to soak up information.
4. She is so adorable with the cats. She talks to them and pets them and cuddles them and loves them. One of my favorite things is when she holds AC and makes her do the Macarena.
5. She is incredibly strong and brave and has stuck by me through all kinds of rough stuff and never turned her back on me.
6. Even though she is very brave about most things she is terrified of spiders and bugs in general, which is endearing and makes me want to protect her from all the world's creepy-crawlies.
7. She is extremely smart, honestly the most intelligent person I've ever known. I can ask her pretty much any question about why something works the way it does and she'll be able to give me an explanation or a theory based on her knowledge.
8. She is the world's most awesome cook. Everything she cooks is delicious and half the time it is a recipe she invented herself or improvised in some way.
9. She makes cute faces at me and says "pls" when she wants something from me, which always makes my heart melt.
10. She is a problem solver, and at times when I am stressing out and just want to sit in a corner and rock back and forth she comes up with a solution or a plan of action and gets things done.
11. When she goes out to the shops she will usually bring me back a packet of Smarties or some other little treat just to show that she cares.
12. She is a good friend to everyone she cares about and will go out of her way to talk someone through a problem and offer advice and do what she can to help them.
13. She laughs at my jokes whether they're funny or lame.
14. She is very good at hugging, kissing, and other stuff.
15. She can do two things at once, for example, play on the computer at the same time as indulging me by watching Star Trek with me.
16. Her stories about things she did when she was a kid are very endearing.
17. Whenever we pass one of those claw machines where you have to try and grab a stuffed toy with the claw, she will almost always stop and spend many dollars trying to win a toy for me.
18. She is a lovely singer and lets me sing duets with her even though I can't sing at all.
19. She attends all my family gatherings even though she must be bored and think we're all weird.
20. She can be very romantic, especially on days like Valentine's Day :P
