Well - the big news is that I went snowboarding for the first time of the season yesterday! It turned out to be quite glorious, despite spending 1/2-2/3 the day giving tips to the couple (work) I went up with and being at the unchallengingly terrained Snoqualmie. I find that just being in that environment gives me great pleasure. It was snowing all day, everything was soft, and I got several knee deep turns and some face shots. Teaching a bit was fun, and probably kept me from overdoing it on the first day, as I am wont to do. I'm going to Stevens tomorrow, maybe I can overdo it then.
My ankle - still bothersome at times, odd times, unexpected times, usually when I'm using it at a weird angle or putting sudden pressure on it to propel me in some direction - was not an issue while snowboarding. I felt it only a couple times, and I wasn't holding back at all. Football starts next weekend, and I don't want to have to hold back then either.
Christmas was pretty low key. I had a Wii night on Christmas eve w/ a friend, and didn't finish til 3am, then couldn't sleep til 5. I was on call, but was still able to sleep in til 1pm. Felt great. I eventually picked up some Shanghai Garden and went to D's for a Chinese Christmas dinner. It was delicious, but I got paged to go out to two hospitals w/i an hour of arriving. I was ok w/ that, other than not getting to hang w/ them as much as I hoped.
I've been house/dog sitting for Atta since last Sat, so wasn't home for the holidays. Had to get together with the housemate
imspanish on Wed at Stumptown.
Speaking of the housemate, look at how cute we are!!
Yes, yes, I know. Adorable in our little Christmas outfits. We went to Liberty where I'd heard a photographer would be there on 12/13 w/ a drunken Santa (the drunken part wasn't pre-announced, but could have been presumed. He had already drained that JB flask before we arrived at 8:30. The photos started at 8). It was fun. I wanted a date w/ the photographer, but she has a boyfriend, and I'm not sure she doesn't think Ace and I are partners. We're going to hang out next week though. We'll see.
I just got what I hope is my final bill from my Oct ER visit. It is a couple hundred dollars over the pre-set amount in my flex fund. That sucks.
My coworker asked me what my top ten '07 movies were. I told her I didn't think I'd seen ten. She sent me a list. I was very very wrong.
In '07, I saw the following 32 '07 releases (some great films, along w/ a few real pieces of @#it - see if you can discern which is which!):
