I am amused by recent reports that the Subway Sub Club is going away because of a problem with counterfeit stamps. Yesterday we watched a show on the History Channel about a man who ripped off casinos for hundreds of thousands of dollars by making counterfeit $10, $25 and $100 slot machine tokens and cashing them in. His tokens were so perfect that at first the real manufacturer couldn't distinguish them from their own legitimate tokens and told police they weren't fakes. His skill was such that the U.S. Mint hired him as a paid consultant -- while he was still in jail.
I suppose you could make a little money making fake Sub Club stamps and selling full cards for, like, a buck. But no one is going to make an hour-long documentary about you.
